Raised in Saliña, one of Curaçao’s most vibrant and dynamic communities, Gillian grew up surrounded by the heartbeat of the island; a place where cultures, stories, sports, business, and people from all walks of life naturally merge. That environment shaped her into a woman who deeply values connection, diversity, adaptability, and the power of unity through authenticity. No matter where life has taken her; from Amsterdam to London to Tel Aviv, Curaçao has always remained her foundation and greatest source of strength.

Her Curaçao isn’t just a postcard; it is watching the sun set over turquoise waters as the light reflects across the sea like thousands of tiny diamonds. Each reflection represents the many brilliant facets of the island; its rich heritage, vibrant culture, talent, resilience, warmth, and unity as a nation. Despite its size, Curaçao carries a presence felt far beyond its shores. To Gillian, that is the true beauty of her island: an authentic brilliance rooted in strength, unity, pride, and the ability to shine on the global stage while remaining deeply connected to who we are.

Professionally, Gillian has built an international career in Global Communications, Branding & Public Relations, working within the beauty and fashion industries for globally recognized brands such as L’Oréal and Tommy Hilfiger. Driven by a passion for storytelling, she believes communication has the power to inspire, empower, entertain, and unite people across cultures. Her mission has always been larger than aesthetics alone; it is about creating meaningful impact through narratives that move people and remind them of their own potential.

What makes her story unique is what runs alongside her professional life. As a certified Diamond Gemologist and former private jeweler within the Israel Diamond Exchange, her fascination with the journey from carbon to diamond became deeply personal, mirroring her own life transformation. Diamonds are born in darkness under immense pressure over billions of years. Carbon, subjected to extraordinary pressure over time, transforms into the hardest known natural material on Earth: the diamond.

That transformation through pressure became the foundation of Gillian’s philosophy and advocacy. Her path has included seasons of profound adversity, including experiences of war and personal hardships that could have diminished her, but instead refined her. Through those experiences, she discovered a truth that now defines her platform: just like a diamond, pressure does not exist to destroy us; it exists to reveal our strength, resilience, purpose, and brilliance.

Today, Gillian uses her voice to advocate for Authenticity Awareness; empowering people to reclaim ownership of their personal narratives and embrace every facet of who they are. She believes scars are not flaws to hide, but proof of survival, growth, and transformation. She believes authenticity is magnetic. And that every individual, regardless of circumstance, holds the power to rise beyond adversity and crystallize their dreams into reality.

As Reina di Karnaval Curaçao 2026, she proudly embraced the responsibility of representing the soul of her island through culture, unity, discipline, grace, and perseverance. Through the Miss Universe Curaçao platform, Gillian hopes to continue that legacy on an even greater global stage.

Her mission is not only to bring home Curaçao’s first Miss Universe crown, but to represent Curaçao as a small island with extraordinary global potential; a hidden diamond of the Caribbean forged through resilience, culture, talent, and authenticity.

During the historic 75th Diamond Anniversary of Miss Universe, Gillian hopes to use this platform and her journey to inspire people around the world, especially those who feel overlooked, pressured, broken, or underestimated, to recognize their own worth and limitless potential. She hopes to remind people that greatness can rise from any circumstance, and that through endurance, even the smallest island can shine with extraordinary light on the world stage.

For Gillian, true beauty is not perfection. True beauty is authenticity refined through endurance. Because the greatest light does not come from never breaking. It comes from having the courage to shine anyway. And just like diamonds, we are all capable of transforming pressure into purpose.
